Summary of Job Description
The South Burnaby Neighbourhood House is a volunteer driven community based social service agency that provides programs and services in response to identified community needs. The SACC Coordinator is responsible for overseeing one or more childcare centres and the planning and implementation of SBNH’s before and after school child care programs. The coordinator reports directly to the Childcare Manager

$18.43 with Benefits after 3 months
35 - 37 hrs/wk 40 hrs during school holidays. Split shifts on occasion.
• Knowledge and awareness of issues surrounding diversity and multiculturalism
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Completion of Early Childhood Educator Certificate, School-Aged Childcare Certificate, Recreation Leadership Diploma or Child and Youth Care Diploma, or completion of a combination of courses, in child development, guidance, health and safety, nutrition and leadership.
• 2-3 years experience providing care and mature guidance to school-aged children in a daycare or recreational setting
• 1-2 years supervising and supporting staff
• Current 1st Aid and CPR certification
• Current criminal record check
• Documented compliance with BC’s immunization and tuberculosis control programs
• Experience in administration and management in a community based non-profit
• Class 4 Driver’s License (or must obtain within 2 months of hire date)
• Foodsafe Level 1
• Experience monitoring budgets
• Knowledge of Community Care Licensing regulations
• 2nd language an asset
