Our Mission
The School Age Child Care Association of B.C. (SACCA) is a province wide, nonprofit organization open to both professionals and students working or studying in the school age child care field. It arose out of the need for school age child care professionals to have a support and communications network of their own. From its original conception, it has grown into a province wide organization working with all aspects of school age child care. Through its newsletter, workshops and professional development projects, it serves the need for a growing child care community.
OUR GOAL
... is to improve the availability of quality, affordable school age child care by providing programs and services to professionals in this field.
OBJECTIVES
In support of our goal, SACCA has identified four major objectives:
- Increase public awareness through lobbying, advocacy, workshops and forums.
- Professional networking through a province-wide newsletter, tours of centres, personal support functions and the promotion of related professional events.
- The development of educational services through a program of guest speakers, seminars and workshops, classes and events aimed at the needs of child care supervisors.
- The development and advancement of a province-wide voluntary set of standards for school age child care.
